During a test flight of the XF-11, Hughes loses control of the plane and crash-lands in Beverly Hills, damaging several homes. The plane catches fire and Hughes is injured. He barely escapes from the cockpit before it catches fire. A man runs to Hughes aid and beats out the flames on Hughes' clothes.
