50 years later. In a backyard at night, John Koestler stares through a telescope at the heavens, and invites his young son Caleb to come and take a look. Caleb puts down the cat he's been petting and comes over. John drinks wine and barbecues on a grill. Caleb, a precocious child, comments about possible life on other planets before running into the house.
