On a train, Penelope and Bang Bang enter Bloom's compartment with stolen snacks. Bloom tells Stephen that he is concerned about Penelope. Stephen gets a telegram from Diamond Dog, which he burns. A drunk Penelope encourages Bloom to lighten up. While a storm rages, Penelope moans and says she's horny. Bloom leaves and plays cards with Bang Bang.
