Bella calls her mother from the road. Vampire James hunts her, while the Cullens search for him. Meanwhile Alice, Bella and Jasper drive through the desert. They stop at a hotel in Phoenix and Alice has a vision. In her vision, James has figured out the ruse and changed direction, he's going to end up in a room full of mirrors. Edward calls Bella from the road, they've lost James' scent. Edward's coming to get Bella while the other vampires continue to hunt. Bella receives a call from her mom, she's being held hostage by James. James agrees to let her mother go if Bella meets him at her old ballet studio, which is what Alice foresaw in her vision. Bella slips away from Alice and Jasper and leaves.
