Bobby gets up after The Fat has been killed and runs back to the cabin. When he gets there, Mr. Summers is dead. Bobby buries him outside in one of the holes. Then he takes the money, packs it up and leaves to go wandering the countryside. Bobby lives with a dog as a long-haired traveler.
