Ping is lost; he despairs. He's is rescued by a kind old man who gives him a pep talk. Ping's sense of hope is renewed, the old man lets Ping out. Drac, wondering where Lucretia is goes to the basement to check on her. Upon seeing the burglars, Drac faints.
