Susan gets back to the nunnery past curfew; Mother Superior only lets her in because it's raining. The Bishop comes to check on them and says the nunnery is being sold. Mother Superior tells Susan she has to obey the rules. The next day Susan sees Sister Humilata crying in the kitchen. She goes back to work to find that Connie has returned: her fiancée gave her a black eye.
